Cadi Scientific won the NHG Healthcare Supplier Awards 2017 for productivity improvement (merit award). The poster is entitled “World’s First Wearable Continuous Vital Signs Monitors for NUH and TTSH General Ward Patients” shown below.
To improve patient safety in general wards while reducing nurses’ workload, Cadi Scientific has introduced and implemented the continuous vital signs monitor from San Diego’s Sotera Wireless Inc. into Singapore hospitals.
The device called ViSi Mobile (ViSi) is the world’s first wearable that provides all vital signs including CNiBP, NiBP, ECGs & respiration rate, heart rate, pulse rate, oxygen saturation, motions and postures continuously, leveraging on hospital’s existing WiFi infrastructure.
Singapore is the first country outside USA that has adopted ViSi Mobile in 2015. The first two sites that went live with the first pilot system for 1 full ward each was the National University Hospital and Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
Benefits / Achievements
ViSi Mobile provides continuous vital signs with actionable alarms that resulted in meaningful nursing intervention that improve patient safety. In addition, it allows patients on hourly / frequent monitoring to have more undisturbed rest at night as nurses no longer are required to come around to perform spot measurement. Nurses save time on manual vital signs taking, 24 times a day per patient for patients on hourly monitoring.
