Sengkang General Hospital (SKH) will be the newest regional hospital in northeast of Singapore when it opens in 2018. When fully opened, it will add 1,400 beds to help meet the increasing healthcare needs of Singapore’s ageing population. With global resource challenges, SKH has been actively working with technology partners such as Cadi Scientific to develop the next generation healthcare IT solutions that can help bring about better patient care and greater operational efficiencies. Deploying a state-of-the-art Real-Time Locating System (RTLS) is just one of the many initiatives that the hospital has embarked on.
Since Sep 2017, Cadi Scientific has been working with SKH to deploy the next generation SmartSense RTLS campus-wide. This deployment will cover both in-patient and outpatient areas such as Emergency Medicine to help facilitate an end-to-end patient journey with real-time location tracking & monitoring, that can help drive towards greater patient safety (e.g. no hassles to re-tag patients) and process workflow automations. This new RTLS solution harness the latest developments in advanced technologies, bringing together WiFi, multi-directional infra-red, active low frequency, passive RFID and Cadi’s patented tag-to-tag technology together under one roof, to meet most, if not all, of the RTLS needs across user groups in the new campus.
In line with Cadi’s vision to deliver products that really help make people’s life better, Cadi is committed to continue to improve its SmartSense system, and working closely with SKH to extend the use of RTLS technologies beyond its traditional scope such as disease outbreak contact tracing and hand hygiene compliance (in the future). Look out for this space come 2018.
